Kaylee's a happy pup. She got her cast off and stitches removed on Thursday. The slopped some iodine on the wound so she was stuck wearing her collar-cone-thingie until Friday evening. Have you ever seen a dog smile? She's been grinning ear to ear ever since. I don't think it took her two minutes to pounce on Oliver to remind him who's the boss. He, of course, doesn't agree with that assessment.
We spent some exciting time at PetsMart today. It's our first time in since the pet food recall. We really lucked out on that. Some of the food we had was the same stuff that was recalled, but it was an earlier batch and safe for the beasties. Anyway. Although we're doing okay with Nutro Natural for the cats, I wanted to try something else. I did some research and we're going to try Royal Canin 33 for the cats. Kaylee is on a prescription food from the vet due to her knees and we're sticking with that.
We also got a pet water fountain-thingie. Oliver is a real hassle with always wanting water out of the faucet in the bathroom. Cat, just let me brush my teeth, dammit! I'm hoping he'll take to the fountain and leave the sink to us bipeds.
As I've mentioned before, I play World of Warcraft. Welllll, Lord of the Rings Online has a free period going at the moment. I've downloaded the client and have been playing for a couple days. I like it. I like it a lot. I really want to play it instead of WoW, but the mister is going to stick with WoW for a while. Some soloing is good, but not all the time and I seem to have a hard time finding other people to play with. It'll be decision time in a few days, and it's going to be a tough one to make.
And it's after 12:30 a.m. Why am I still up?
Kaylee is home. Her reaction when she saw me - whimpering, grunting, licking, tail wagging. I'd say she was happy to see me.
The vet said the surgery went great. He said a couple times that we need to make sure her movements are really limited to make sure this surgery recovers well and to make sure the previous surgery doesn't get screwed up. Yessir!
She's currently crashed out on the futon in my den. I put her there (she can jump up herself when not in gimp-mode) to keep an eye on her. She looks content.
Most everyone who reads this knows that Kaylee's rear left knee went kerplooie (her ACL went out) about six weeks ago. She had surgery and everything was, and is, healing great. We were warned that her right ACL may go as well. It did. She's schedule for surgery on Monday. Poor mutt.
