Death with Dignity

One of my uncles, my mum's oldest sister's husband, had heart problems for a long time. Surprisingly, that is not what killed him. Last Friday he was diagnosed with lung cancer (he didn't smoke) that had spread to his spine. He had a very short time to live and was in agonizing pain.

My uncle was a long-time residence of Oregon and completely eligible for the Death with Dignity Act. This last Wednesday he, with his wife and son with him, decided to participate in the act and committed suicide.
