Diabeetus
I love this graphic of Wilford Brimley. I get the giggles something awful when I see it.
I was quite surprised to find out that there isn't a diabetes group on Vox. So, I took it upon myself to start one. Although it may come off as flippant, it really isn't. It's a chronic illness, one that's difficult to deal with on a day-to-day basis. I don't write about it much, but I have problems with it. I've had to have eye surgery for retinal neuropathy and will probably have to have more. I have neuropathy in my feet. I have protein in my urine which indicates I may end up with kidney disease. I know this is what's going to kill me.
But hey, if I can't make fun of the diabeetus, who can?

I couldn't help but notice (same thing, I thought) that you were concerned about the lack of a diabetes group in Vox. I wanted to take the opportunity to invite you to www.TuDiabetes.com, a Social Network for Diabetics. It's an amazing place that is growing by the day (49 members as of today) where all sorts of people touched by diabetes exchange anything from pictures and videos, to stories and tips about their lives with this very serious condition that you and I know (I have been type 1 since 2002).
