The mister and I are going to see TGC this weekend. I started reading the book Wednesday evening and I'm about halfway through it. I'm really enjoying the book and hope the movie lives up to it.
Get your own daemon here.
I think the mister has brought home the plague. Blergh.
I'm sorry I missed seeing both of these:
Saturday afternoon:
The mister heard a racket he thought was coming from our neighbours. He walked down the hallway and found that the noise was coming from our laundry room. He went inside the room to find out what was going on. To his amazement he saw Mingo inside the open washing machine with an empty Kleenex box on his head. The noise was Mingo flailing about trying to get the box off of his head. How, you ask yourself, did he get his head stuck inside an empty Kleenex box? It was sitting on the dryer on it's way to the recycle bin. And cats being cats...
Sunday morning:
Fanty has decided he needs to see what's inside of our cupboards and the pantry. We can't keep the cupboards closed yet (we're going to get child safety locks) but the mister came up with a solution for the pantry. He used a small bungee cord around the two knobs and that keeps it closed. Or so we thought. The mister was making breakfast but heard a disturbance in the hallway. Apparently Fanty had stretched the bungee cord enough to get a large enough gap in the pantry doors to slip inside. He couldn't figure out how to work it in reverse and was stuck inside the pantry. Mingo was cheering Fanty on by pounding on the outside of the doors and yowling.
What movie did you expect would be terrible, but was actually really good?
I didn't think Batman Begins would be terrible, I just had no desire to see it. The mister talked me into it and I was surprised at how good it was. I see they're filming the sequel - The Dark Knight, and they've replaced Katie Holmes with Maggie Gyllenhaal. Yay!
How are you celebrating Halloween today?
I'm dressing up as a witch and handing out candy to the little monsters ..er.. kids.

Edited to add:
I found the full video on Youtube and it's below. Apparently Snowball is a Cockatoo living at Bird Lovers Only Rescue in Indiana. Site is here and their blog is here. I saw Snowball on Ellen two days ago and, apparently, he's been on most of the network news shows as well.
It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Do you have a flickr stream? If so, join and add your photos to this group (I had three appropriate photos to add). For every photo in the group, Yahoo! is donating a dollar to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund up to $50,000.00.
My local Safeway (probably all of them) is having their employees wear pink shirts under their vests and aprons for the month of October. You can donate money to the cause at the checkstand. It's not a lot but I'm donating a few bucks each shopping day (Thursday for me) in memory of my grandmother.
Wow. This has been one of my longest blogging gaps since I started blogging six years ago. No real excuse except World of Warcraft has captured my attention. I've met up with an old chat buddy from eight years ago (I met him before I met the mister in the same chat room) and we've been playing like there's no tomorrow. I finally have a high level character - I hit 62 last night with my Night Elf Hunter. Playing in Outland is quite the experience. It's hard to explain but it's more fantasy landscape-wise than Azeroth or Kalindor. Those two places have landscapes based in reality, Outland is way out there.
Non-WoW stuff is the same old stuff:
Fanty and Mingo are scheduled to get broken (geddit?) Friday morning. Poor little saps, they don't have any idea what's gonna happen to them. I have new photos of them (and the trip to Terrace in July) but can't be arsed to post them to Flickr.
Autumn has made it's presence known; it snuck up on me this year. I've been pretty much house-bound for a while and didn't notice it coming. It's been a bit cooler than the norm for this time of year and we're getting lots of rain. That's too bad because Autumn is usually a really nice time in BC.
The mister and I have been fighting the remnants of a flu bug and I'm tired of being tired.
What sources do you count on for national news coverage? How about international and local news?
I get the CNN headlines emailed to me every morning as well the Canada.com headlines. I look at Google's news page at least a couple times a day. Once in a while I'll turn on the TV and watch the local news (Global) or CNN or HNN. I prefer the local (Canadian) newscasters, tho'. They're not the hysterical talking heads that U.S. newscasters tend to be. And I usually get a chance to read The Province once a week.
What would you attempt to do if you knew you could never fail?
